VOE Leadership Duties
Board of Directors: All members of the board are required to help in some form with every VOE event. Along with other responsibilities, members of the board must mentor a 9th or 10th grader that will replace them in the future.
Group Leaders:
Members:
- CEO - Advisor’s assistant; They are there to help the advisor in the decisions, planning, and implementation of every VOE event. They're needed to give an alternative view to decisions that will be made.
- President - Works alongside the advisor and members of the group to plan, organize, and carry out all of the club’s duties. If the advisor is not present, then the President is in charge. Picked by the President and CEO from the prior year.
- Vice-President - Assists the President, and is the voice of the members. This person is in charge of making sure all of the members are in tune. Any issue with a member goes to the VP.
- Secretary - Communication director; role includes taking meeting notes, organizing documents on the shared drive, and communicating with all of the grade leaders. Also has control over the website
- Treasurer - Fundraising Leader; Keeps records of all of the money, has headcount of members attending events, plans group trips, and informs the advisor of what's needed for certain events.
- Art Director - In charge of the layout of all of VOE’s events, develops the theme for the VOE showcase Art display, and takes pictures at every event. Also in charge of the VOE boards outside of the library.
- Music Director- Showcase Director, Coordinate musical events with music department, Select music to perform, arrange performances, Arrange practice time and ensure the performers are prepared, Arrange music for events
- Eastern Director - Makes sure that all members at Eastern know what is going on and are involved in the planning and implementation of VOE’s events.
Group Leaders:
- Grade Leaders: They are to make sure that every member in their respective grades knows what's going on. Do so by texting everyone individually, and making sure that they get the message. Any issues should come to the grade leaders first.
- Event Leader (Directors): They are in charge of their respective event. They work with the board to plan, organize and implement their event. They have the final say in their event (other than the advisor).
- Program Leaders: leaders within the event that are responsible for the portion of the event they are assigned (ie. backstage director, technical director, etc). Work with the event leader to make sure their portion of the job is taken care of.
Members:
- All members are required to attend the Monday meetings. If you miss 5 meetings in a row without proper communication with the secretary you will be suspended from the group.
- Assist in all of the VOE events.
- Communicate any change of phone number with the secretary
- To move up in the organization you have to be present and innovative. To be present means that you are actively helping make events successful, you are able to lead when called upon. To be innovative means you are not just following but coming up with ways to make the event successful. You are coming up with ideas for the group and how we can become better.
- DO NOT BE A PASSIVE MEMBER. The goal is for everyone to be a leader.
VOE Code of Conducts
1. Respect - Respect yourself and others ideas, beliefs, and opinions. Do not disrespect anyone.
2. Responsibility - Do what you’re supposed to do even when no one is watching
3. Resilience - We don’t lose, we either win or learn. Keep on Keeping on.
4. Self-Discipline - Control your attitude and behavior even when no one is watching
5. Teamwork - Work together to make sure all of VOE’s events and members are successful.
